Naval Air Station Pensacola
Naval Air Station Pensacola is situated near the mouth of Pensacola Bay. The base is home to more than 16,000 military personnel not including their families. This number represents members from every branch of the U.S. Military. Furthermore, the base employs another 7,000 civilian workers. The military installation covers a total of 8,423 acres. This includes NAS Pensacola proper, Corry Station, Saufley Field and Outlying Landing Field Barin. While the men and women serving aboard NAS Pensacola are selflessly willing to lay down their lives for our nation, many of them do not have a relationship with the one who laid down His life for theirs. It is our prayer to plant a multiplying church near this military community so that the men and women serving our nation can come to know Christ. Furthermore, it is our prayer that as these service men and women travel the globe with the U.S. Military, they would take the Gospel with them.
University of West Florida
Pensacola Florida is home to the University of West Florida. West Florida currently has more than 13,000 students enrolled. The University offers more than 100 different degree programs, which draws students from all over the world. Furthermore, the University employs more than 2,400 faculty and staff. Since its founding in 1963, the University of West Florida has awarded over 100,000 degrees and has a thriving sports program as well as many Greek organizations. While this school is thriving, many of the students are not. Like many college campuses across the nation, a large portion of the students are lost. It is our prayer that we would plant a church with an emphasis of reaching the many lost and un-discipled college students attending the University of West Florida.
Beach Ministry
Pensacola is home to some of the nicest beaches in the United States. These white sandy beaches and crystal clear water make Pensacola a sought after tourist destination. In fact, Escambia County saw over 2.5 million visitors in 2023. However, a large majority of these tourists are lost. We have a unique opportunity to reach countless souls from all over the world with the gospel. Our prayer is that God would not only use us to witness to these tourists, but that these new converts would bring the Gospel back with them to their home. Therefore, through this ministry, Redemption has the ability to have a global impact for the Kingdom.
